the most common types of eyelid growths are styes and chalazia; these are lumps in or along the edge of an eyelid causing swollen, red eyelids. Most will go away on their own. If the condition worsens, the doctor can prescribe treatment.
a cataract is a clouding, or build up of protein, in the lens of the eye which can impair vision. Cataracts are diagnosed by the doctor and he will determine when/if surgery is needed. Generally surgery is done on an outpatient basis during which the doctor replaces your lens with an intraocular lens implant. |
